Pure goodness is not when we have to make a choice between good and evil. Pure goodness can only exist in a heart which is incapable of evil. A person can move from evil to good through meditation. But to reach the self-existent good, man has to resort to consecration. Consecration is to offer both our good and our evil to the Divine so that the Divine may transform it into self-existent Good. The formula for consecration is given by the short mantra: “May Thy will be done and not my will”. We surrender our will (which is a mixture of both good and evil) to the Divine so that the will of the Divine (which is unmixed with evil) may happen.
